It’s the wedding trend that brides across Australia are loving - especially for weddings during the cooler winter months.
But while many brides have been desperate to get their hands on custom-made denim jackets featuring their new married name, the hefty price tags that many companies are charging for the item has left many going without.
Well now one bride has taken to Facebook to reveal how her new hubby came up with an ingenious hack for recreating the wedding jackets - using a $25 Kmart jacket.
Sharing the idea on the fabulous Kmart Hacks & Decor Facebook group, Harley says: ‘My husband gets the best Kmart award.
‘After seeing prices over $200 for my wedding jacket (one of my gifts), we bought a $25 kmart jacket and had it embroided for $25.
‘My favourite gift of all time and didn't cost a fortune.’
The idea got the big thumbs up from Kmart Hacks & Decor’s other members who loved the idea.
‘Cool as! Love it!’ said one. Added another: ‘What a great idea!’
Said a third: ‘Amazing how the word “wedding” increases the cost of items by 1000%.... Well done.’
Another said she’s done a similar hack, writing: ‘I’ve done something similar for my sisters wedding. I bought the Kmart jacket to do one for myself as well but without the decals.’
