A bakery in the US has caused shockwaves amongst cupcake lovers by serving the sweet treat in a VERY different way.
Deep-Fried Cupcakes are now on the menu at Sweet Girlz Bakery in Pennsylvania, featuring 10 varieties of the new dessert twist. They’re made by placing a regular cupcake, complete with lashings of icing, into batter before deep-drying them until golden brown.
And fans say the results are spectacular. ‘This is hands-down the best thing I’ve ever eaten,’ wrote one on social media, while another commented: ‘Who knew deep-fried cupcakes could be so good?!’
The new dessert caused enormous lines at BaconFest 2018 in the US over the weekend, and food bloggers now predicting that deep-fried cupcakes will be as big as the cronut trend.
That means it’s only a matter of time before deep-fried cupcakes hit our shores. But will you try them?
