It’s Australia Day - and one Kmart Pie Maker fan has come up with a hell of a way to celebrate!
Using the trusty $29 appliance, Aussie home baker Theresa has whipped up LAMINGTONS - and don’t they look gooooooood!?
Theresa shared her amazing cakes on the fabulous Kmart Pie Maker Recipes, Tips and Ideas Australia, which is full of clever tricks for making all sorts of things in the hugely popular gadget apart from pies.
We’ve seen Kmart Pie Maker fans scones, muffins, quiches, vanilla slices and EVEN dim sims in the appliance - and now we can add true blue lamingtons to the list too!
Theresa says she used her own basic sponge cake recipe for the cakes - she suggests that you could even use a packet mix to save time! - and cooked them in the pie maker, without turning them over, until they’re done.
While the cakes are cooling, Theresa made a chocolate icing mix using 2 cups of icing sugar, 1/2 cup cocoa, a tablespoon of butter or margarine and 1/2 a cup of milk.
Then it’s simply a case of dunking the cakes into the chocolate icing and rolling them in desiccated coconut!
Theresa, you’re a genius! Her fellow Kmart Pie Maker followers agreed, saying they couldn’t wait to give the recipe a go.
‘They are so perfect!’ said one. Added another: ‘They look awesome!’
Added a third: ‘They look scrumptious!’
Couldn’t agree more! And for more amazing ideas, make sure you’re following the Kmart Pie Maker Recipes, Tips and Ideas Australia group here on Facebook. You’ll love it!
