Tracy tells New Idea Food that Declan not only has autism, he has also been diagnosed with ADHD and severe anxiety amongst other things - making his beautiful gift to his mum even more special.
Not surprisingly, Tracy’s post - and Declan’s beautiful cake - has been received very warmly by her fellow gorgeous Woolies/Coles Mudcake Hacks followers, with more than 6,000 likes and over 1,000 comments.
Wrote one: ‘How awesome, he should be so proud of himself. My daughter has autism and I remember one night she wanted to make chocolate self saucing puddings, she did it all by herself we weren’t allowed in the kitchen and they were awesome. She was 8 then and now she’s 19.’
Added another: ‘He should be very proud !! What a lucky mum xx’ Said a third: ‘Best cake ever made with so much love, what a lucky Mumma You are.. Happy Birthday x’
Another wrote: ‘Well I think it is priceless.’ And another said: ‘Wow what an awesome job. You must be so proud. I have an asd child. I’d be wrapped and in tears with joy if mine did this. Well done to your son. Imagine with practice what he could do. Watch this space I say!’

So true! We couldn’t agree more - Tracy is so lucky to have such a thoughtful son, and Declan is one fabulous cake maker! He can make us a masterpiece any time!
