The 12 Sydney suburbs with the most prevalent cultural saturation based on census data have been turned into a range of chocolate flavours.
The chocolates cleverly combine ethnicity, population and taste. The predominant culture of an area has been turned into flavour, while a physical map has been 3d printed onto each bite-sized piece.
“This project is a true taste of the flavours of Sydney. We have used taste to help people experience the extraordinary diversity in Australia’s most populous city, with the goal of making data delicious,” said Jack Zhao of Small Multiples.
“This project has shown us that no matter where you live, immigrants have helped define places with their cultural traditions exemplified by the flavours they brought to the Australian palate.”
