Lisa later updated the post to say she’d spoken to her local Aldi, writing: ‘I did ring customer service before returning it so that they were aware of the issue and able to check other stock from the same load. Both blocks returned in store and exchanged. I will definitely be making sure I check my cheese when I pick them up from now on!!!’
Not surprisingly, other Aldi Mums were horrified by Lisa’s discovery.
‘That’s absolutely terrible. I’ve had the same thing happen from both Aldi and Woolies,’ said one. 'That's so gross,' said another.
But others commented that it's a fact of life. Said one: ‘This can happen with expensive brands too, it’s just the vacuum packaging.’
