She writes: ‘Toasties are prepped and ready for the freezer for easy week day brekkies! Works especially well when your workplace has a sandwich toaster 😅’
Adds Rachel: ‘I use baking paper to wrap them. It means they’re easy to grab and I just open it up when I get to work so my toastie doesn’t get messy from people before me who don’t clean the press after use.’
As for how how long the toasties take to defrost, Rachel says: ‘I just grab one out of the freezer when I’m leaving home and it’s great in the sandwich press when I get to work 20 mins later 😊’
Genius! Not surprisingly, Rachel’s ‘Toastie Bread Bag’ freezer hack got the big thumbs up from the groups thousands of members.
‘I’m so borrowing this idea. Awesome,’ said one. Added another: ‘I looooove this idea!’
Said a third: ‘This is genius!’ Added one more: ‘Making a week's worth of sandwiches and freezing them is like having a holiday mid term!’
As for what Rachel puts in her toasties, she writes: ‘I’ve just got ham, cheese, red onion and some of the chargrilled peppers from the antipasto section in these ones. I don’t normally use tomato because I’m not a massive fan and I’m not sure how it goes defrosted. I also bought some of the caramelised onion in a jar that I’ll put on the next batch with ham and cheese.’
Sounds yum! Says another fan: ‘Awesome idea. You’ve just made my life easier 😘’
