Now one shopper has taken to Facebook to praise her local Aldi store for keeping a ‘secret stash’ of toilet paper aside - especially for those in need. And other shoppers say their local store is doing the same.
Posting on the awesome Aldi Mums Facebook page, shopper Emma writes: ‘Shout out to my local store Aldi who shall remain nameless but twice I’ve seen them ‘find love toilet paper for the disabled and elderly from a secret stash!!
‘This poor lady in front of me who’s just been released from hospital has been to 6 stores this week for toilet paper cause she’s now run out! I had a quick convo with the cashier and she was able to find her one!
‘This beautiful lady even offered me some when I carried her shopping to the car for her. Of course I declined! But all stores should have some aside for people like this who can’t keep coming in checking for toilet paper.’
Emma’s post attracted a wave of support, with her fellow Aldi lovers praising the store for their random act of kindness.
Said one: ‘Very nice to do that. I think all stores should have a secret stash for the elderly as a lot of them are unable to go store to store looking for toilet paper, just so ridiculous what people are doing with this toilet paper frenzy.’
Said another: ‘My Local Aldi is doing the same 🥰’
Added a third: ‘So nice to hear a positive in all this negativity.’
One more customer shared another lovely story about her daughter’s act of toilet paper kindness.
‘My daughter works at Coles packing shelves and saw so many people from the retirement home upset that they couldn't find any toilet paper that she found some at Aldi and took it to the retirement village and gave it to them,’ she wrote.
