Social media users have been quick to talk up how they’re loving the challenge - and how easy it is.
‘Yes just started this year already got about $250 or so saved just from loose $2 coins laying around randomly and has only taken like 2 months if that can't complain ha ha,’ revealed one on the Markdown Addicts Facebook group.

Said a third: ‘I did the $2 coins in 600ml and got $980.’ Added one more: ‘Me and my partner did this, it’s a really good idea.’
Others on the Markdown Addicts Facebook group have revealed that they used other containers - not just Coke bottles - to kickstart their savings.
Said one: ‘1.25kg Milo tin = $4002 👌🏼’ Woah! Another added that she’s already saved $1019 this year with several savings challenges: ‘I started at the beginning of the year , I’m also saving $5 notes too. I’m saving for a cruise for our 10th wedding anniversary in just under 2 years. In 3 months I’ve saved $1019. $5 = $490, $2 = $410, $1 = $119.’
Said another: ‘Who knew Coke could be so worth it.’
Ha! We totally agree. Now, we’re off to buy a bottle of Coke ... with a $10 note so we get lots of loose change!
