A Queensland magistrate has told a young father to start thinking with his ‘big head’ after he plead guilty to stealing a $6 bra from Best & Less.
Quinton John Miller appeared in Mackay Magistrates Court, admitting he stole the budget lingerie at the request of a girl he was pursuing.
‘I can tell you it’s a lot cheaper to pay for it in the first instance,’ Magistrate Damien Dwyer told the accused. ‘Go up and grow up, start thinking with your big head.’
The father-of-one plead guilty to petty rime, with his lawyer revealing that he was swayed by a love interest into stealing the $6.10 bra.
‘He acted on the direction of .... a girl he had an interest in,’ his lawyer said, as reported in the Daily Mercury.
The magistrate responded by fining Miller $300 and ordering him to pay $6.10 restitution to Best & Less.
‘Simple fact is ... you know who’s going to pay for that ... not you or your girlfriend and not Best & Less,’ the magistrate said.
‘The rest of us when they put the prices up so it covers mugs like you.’
