Just when we thought we’d seen every easy Christmas hack going, along comes another one to blow us out of the water!
Christmas Tree Vanilla Slices is the creation of one Aussie mum, who took to the Christmas Mums Facebook group to share her super simple recipe.
Using just two ingredients - slices of frozen puff pastry and Aeroplane’s famous Vanilla Dessert Mix, nothingnesses available from Coles and Woolworths - mum Linda says the adorable slices are ‘so easy to make.’ Love it!
Says Linda: ‘Made Christmas Tree Vanilla Slice today...so delicious. Lost count how many I ate.
‘I used Aeroplane Dessert Mix and puff pastry. I’ll be adding this to my dessert platter on Christmas Day. So easy to make.’
Linda revealed that she cut the pastry into shapes using a tree-shaped cookie cutter and then baked them until golden brown. Then after mixing up the Dessert Mix as per the packet instructions, she just scooped on the custard and smoothed out the edges with a butter knife.
The festive treats got the big thumbs up from the group’s other followers.
‘They look so delicious and cute!! ❤’ said one. Added another: ‘I was just looking for a dessert to make for a lunch on Sunday, this looks perfect 😃👌🏼’
Added a third: ‘I don't think these look any good, you need to throw them all in a box & send them to me 😂😉😉🙊🙊’
Ha! We agree!
