When it comes to markdown hauls, this has to be one of the greatest of all time.
Picking up stacks of items for just 10 cents and 25 cents - with prices slashed by 90% - this bargain hunter pretty much hit the markdown jackpot.
Aussie mum Kimberley posted her epic discount stash to the fabulous Markdown Addicts Australia page, revealing that she had kindly shared it with two local mums.
In the haul, the savvy shopper picked up a range of gourmet cheeses - include Brie - for just 25 cents, tortellini for just 10 cents, soup for 25 cents, four-packs of soft drink for 25c cents and a range of meats for under $2. Woah!
But in an unusual twist, Kimberley reveals that she actually made money on her haul. She reveals: ‘I made a profit of 60c on the drink packs 🤣 so they paid me to take them because of earn and return.’
Explaining how she made the profit, Kimberley adds: ‘I was paid to take the bottles because they cost 25c per 4 pack and each bottle I return to Woolies earn an retun stations fo recycling i get 10c which means for each 4 bottles I get 40c... 15c profit per 4 pack.’
Genius! The haul prompted the group’s other followers to call Kimberley’s ‘Markdown Queen’!
‘Send some "Markdown dust" my way ❤,’ said one. Added another: ‘Wowsers! I would never in a million years get that sort of markdown at any store in our territory!!’
As for tips that Kimberley can pass on for scoring your own bargains, she has one!
The savvy shopper suggests hitting the supermarkets ‘late afternoons/nights for the final markdown of the day ❤️’. She also reveals that the supermarket where she snagged her bargains was a smaller store, situated next to a much larger one.
