Just when we’d seen every Christmas baking shortcut hack, along comes another to blow us out of the water!
Aussie mum and blogger Chantelle Ellem - who runs Fat Mum Slim - has come up with this ingenious way of making a no-bake Christmas cake, using two very unlikely Woolworths ingredients.
Revealing that she makes the super easy creation by simply sandwiching chocolate chip biscuits with lashings of whipped cream and placing them in a circular wreath-shaped pattern.
Once that’s done, Chantelle just covers the whole lot with more whipped cream - making it look like a proper, fresh out-of-the-oven cake! She then tops it with handfuls of berries, and the masterpiece is complete!
Says Chantelle: ‘This has to be the easiest, affordable, most impressive dessert out there! Don’t you think? {Oops, I do believe I just blew my own trumpet!}.
Chantelle starts with these two Woolies ingredients - choc chip bikkies and thickened cream.
After whipping the cream, she uses it to sandwich the biscuits together and make a wreath shape.
Once the circle is completed, just 'ice' with the cream like you would a cake!
Then top with berries ...
... and your creation is complete!
‘Grab all the ingredients from Woolies, including the choc-chip cookies from the bakery section, all the beautiful fruits from the fresh produce section and add some of the Woolies delicious Christmas pies and puddings to serve too. And then, whip it all up in under 30 minutes.’
Chantelle added that the ingredients melt together once once they're assembled and 'the cream turns the cookies to more a cake consistency which is YUM.' Love it!
