One of the women behind the hugely popular Kmart Pie Maker Recipes, Tips and Ideas Australia Facebook group has opened up about their amazing journey, revealing she had no idea how quickly their idea would grow.
Pie maker guru Lisa and her cousin Nat started the group less than a year ago, attracting more than 118,000 fans in that time.
“Nat bought a pie maker first, and we saw some people sharing ideas on one of the Kmart Mums Facebook pages and we thought ‘why not start one of our own?’” Lisa tells PerthNow.
“I actually didn’t even have a pie maker when we initially started the page.’
Lisa said maintaining the page required a significant amount of effort, and they had no affiliation with or kickbacks from Kmart.
“Some days I will need to log in and check the page about 20 times, but we can’t be on it all the time,” she said.
The group can grow by up to 1000 new members a day when popular recipes are shared.
A Kmart Australia spokesperson said the company was “delighted” to watch customers sharing their “creative meal ideas”.
