Banana Bread Doughnuts

Cook: 15 Minutes - easy - Serves 9 - Vegetarian - nut-free - egg-free - pregnancy-safe

This cheat's version of a doughnut incorporates our other bakery favourite – banana bread! Decorated in bright colours, they're sure to be a hit.

Ingredients

550 g loaf banana bread

250 g cream cheese

¼ cup icing sugar mixture

2 Tbsp milk

pink food colouring

liquid blue food colouring

liquid yellow food colouring

rainbow sprinkles

Method

  1. Cut a 550g loaf banana bread into nine slices. Using a 7cm round cutter, cut out a round from each slice. Using a 2cm round cutter, cut out centres. Reserve scraps for another use.
  2. Beat 250g cream cheese with ¼ cup icing sugar mixture and 2 tblsps milk in an electric mixer until smooth. Divide into portions. Tint one pink, one blue and one yellow. Spread over doughnuts. Decorate with rainbow sprinkles.
