1 teaspoon caster sugar
7 g sachet dried yeast
1 cup warm water
2¾ cups plain flour
1 teaspoon salt
¼ cup olive oil
- Combine 1 teaspoon caster sugar, 7g sachet dried yeast and 1 cup warm water. Combine 2¾ cups plain flour, 1 teaspoon salt, ¼ cup olive oil and yeast mixture in a bowl. Set aside 5 min, until foamy.
- Turn dough onto a floured surface, knead for 5-10 min. Place in a bowl, cover and stand 45 min or until doubled in size. Punch dough to release air, pat out to a large rectangle. Place on a lined baking tray.
- Using fork, prick dough all over then use your fingertips to make indentations. Cover and rise 30 min. Brush with olive oil, season with salt and pepper. Bake at 200°C (180°C fan forced) for 20-25 min.
