3 cups self-raising flour
¼ cup caster sugar
330 ml bottle of beer, at room temperature
- Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan forced). Line an 11 x 22cm loaf pan with baking paper.
- Combine flour, caster sugar and a pinch of salt in a bowl and make a well in the centre. Add the beer and mix until you have a sticky dough.
- Spoon dough into the loaf pan (top with some sesame seeds if you like) and bake in the oven for 50-55 min or until cooked. Test with a skewer. Cool in the pan for 5 min before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely, or serve warm. Cut into slices to serve.
