It’s the Emmy award-winning animated children’s show that’s taken the world by storm, but now, rumours are rife that no new episodes of Bluey will air.

After a ‘For Sale’ sign was shown outside the Bluey home at the end of the episode ‘The Sign’, viewers were left concerned over the future of the show.

But a week later, a surprise episode dropped (aptly named ‘Surprise), which ended with a visit from a grown-up Bluey coming home to visit her dad Bandit and mum Chilli (who are still living in their beloved house on the hill) with her child…what a plot twist!

While it was sweet to see what Bluey’s life looked like as an adult, the end of the episode certainly made fans ponder whether the episode could be the end of not just season three, but also the entire series given its full-circle nature.

Has Bluey been cancelled?

Thankfully for fans of the beloved blue heeler and her family, Bluey has not been cancelled!

Speaking with BBC Radio 4, producer Sam Moor confirmed that the globally popular series would definitely be returning after the most recent Bluey episodes premiered in April this year.

“It is the question on everybody’s lips. Not, it is not the end for Bluey. I’m sure we have many more surprises in store for you.”

“We have more in store and we are [currently] thinking what would be next.”

How many episodes of Bluey are there?

Since Bluey premiered on ABC Kids on October 1st, 2018, more than 150 episodes have aired across three seasons.

Seasons one and two were comprised of 52 episodes a piece and were aired from October 2018 – December 2019 and March 2020 – April 2021.

Season three of Bluey began airing on September 5th, 2021 with 26 new episodes, with a further 11 episodes released in 2022, 10 new episodes in 2023, and four episodes (including an extra-long special) in 2024.
