Six varieties of Wintulichs Metwursts have been pulled from shelves, with customers being warned not to consume the meat due to concerns of the bacterial contamination.
The recalled products are:
* Metwurst Garlic 300g, 375g, 500g, 700g
* Metwurst Plain 700g
* Metwurst Pepperoni 375g
The contaminated products have a best before date of 08/04/20.
Says Food Standards Australia: ‘The recall is due to other (incorrect ph and water activity levels leading to potential microbial contamination).
‘Food products with the potential for microbial contamination may cause illness if consumed.’
In the second recall, Aldi were forced to recall two of their hugely popular pesto sauces due to fears they could harm some customers with intolerances.
Remano Basil Pesto 190g and Remano Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto 190g - all use by dates - have been pulled from shelves.
Says Food Standards Australia: ‘The recall is due to the presence of an undeclared allergen (peanut). Any consumers who have a peanut allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed.’
Customers have been advised to return both products to the place of purchase for a refund.
