When a Victorian family bought a batch of Woolworths Chicken Kievs for a delicious weeknight dinner, they were expecting a tasty feast.
However their meal soon took a sinister turn when they found what they believed to be bits of broken blue plastic inside the crumbed chicken portions.
Revealing his horror to the Geelong Advertiser, a man - who asked to stay anonymous - said the find ruined their family dinner. He went on to say that it looked like someone had “smashed up a blue pen lid” inside the Chicken Kievs, which was bought from Woolworths at Bell Post.
‘We had just started eating the dinner my daughter had cooked and I said: “what the h*ll is that?”’ he told the Geelong Advertiser. ‘It was like someone had smashed up a blue pen lid inside the chicken.’
A Woolworths spokesperson told the Geelong Advertiser that they were investigating the incident.
‘At Woolworths we take food safety and quality very seriously,’ a statement read. ‘We’ve seen the customer’s report and we’re looking into the matter with our supplier in line with established procedures.’
The family reportedly found plastic pieces in their Chicken Kievs.
