Australia is the latest to take on the glittery beer trend after Victorian brewhouse, The Two Birds Nest, introduce a David Bowie-inspired ale.
Named the Stardust-IPA, there is more to this sparkly beverage than just its dazzle. Brewed the week of Bowie’s birth, two years after his death, the beer was created to deliver exactly 69 International Bitterness Units - to match Bowie’s age when he passed.
The sparkle is created with fully digestible edible glitter, which swirls in dramatic storms in the honey-coloured ale.
The Victorian brewers are not alone in their dazzling ale creations. Bold Missy Brewery in North Carolina have released a limited edition brew called ‘Trapper Keeper’ inspired by the glittery designs of 90s stationery.
And Portland, Oregon brewers, She Brew, have created a Hulk-inspired glittery beer that’s also gluetn-free!
What a time to be alive!
