Explaining how she made the new kitchen feature lights using the unlikely item, Kathy says she simply used pliers to remove the handles. She then used an angle grinder to remove the ‘little loops’ from the top of the lantern, before giving the tops a tiny lick of black paint. Kathy adds that you ‘would need existing pendants’ to make it work.
The clever home decorator also shared a photo of her kitchen with the old, existing pendant lights, showing the amazing transformation thanks to her $10 Kmart hack. Love it!
The makeover went down a treat with the other Kmart Mums Australia members, who were blown away by Kathy’s amazing kitchen.
‘They look so good. Kmart for the win 👏👏,’ said one. Said another: ‘Definitely going to do this to mine!’
Added a third: ‘We have the exact same kitchen colours! All of it, even the wall colour😍 You’ve just given me some great ideas, loving those light shades! 💗💗’
Said one more: I love the reflection on the ceiling too. Looks cute!’
