Consumers were given the choice between Coke Zero and the new Coca Cola No Sugar and opted for the latter.
“Australians have embraced Coke No Sugar – which from day one was carefully crafted to taste even more like Coca-Cola Classic, but without the sugar,” said Coca-Cola Marketing Director Lucie Austin.
“We think it’s the closest we have ever come to the taste of classic Coca-Cola.”
This comes shortly after Coca-Cola announced it would change its recipes to cut sugar content in their products.
This year, countries including Ireland, the UK and South Africa raised the price of sugary drinks in the hopes of healthier populations. Many dieticians are recommending sparkling water as an alternative to carbonated drinks.
