But now Aldi bosses have announced that Australia’s current coronavirus crisis will impact the store’s weekly Special Buys. With the demand for groceries greater than ever, Aldi say they’re prioritising the distribution of these essential items over their Special Buys stock.
In a statement, Aldi says: ‘We are currently prioritising the transport and distribution of our core grocery items and this may result in some advertised Special Buys not being available on the advertised on-sale date.
‘We will try our best to limit this impact. We ask for your understanding and apologise if you are inconvenienced.’
Aldi shoppers have been taking to social media in recent days to query why some Special Buys products haven’t been on sale on the advertised dates, leading to confusion and speculation.
But while some shoppers suggested that Special Buys may come to a halt during the coronavirus crisis, Aldi at this stage has assured shoppers that they should only expect possible delays on some items. Phew!
