Earlier today, Target placed a sign at the front of the store advising the public of the closure.
It read: ‘Our store is currently closed for cleaning following a confirmed case of COVID-19 of one of our team members.
‘Our priority is to ensure the safety of our customers and team members.
‘We apologise for any inconvenience.’
Councillor Ryan Murphy, who’s the Brisbane City Councillor for Chandler Ward, posted news of the Target closure to his Facebook page, attracting hundreds of comments from shocked shoppers.
The closure follows news that a KFC restaurant in Brisbane was forced to shut its doors on Thursday, after a worker there also tested positive to the virus.
