A Queensland couple have broken the internet after their wedding photos revealed their bridal party took a cheeky detour to KFC.
Payton and Joel Giacomantonio stunned employees at the Eagleby KFC when they rocked up in full wedding regalia, with their bridal party and photographer in tow, and ordered their first meal together as husband and wife.
‘Payton and Joel's wedding was brought forward and planned within 3 weeks due a family members illness,’ the couple’s photographer, Shanelle King-Massey, told Foodiful.
‘Being such a large day for everyone, it was so important that the bridal party ate before our photoshoot, and being 23 weeks pregnant myself, I was dying for something fast.
‘Of course I had to photograph the moment, it was so elegantly messy and I thought the couple would get a laugh out of it later.’
Shanelle says that she has gotten so many comments on the photos and she’s amazed at how many people think the wedding or reception actually took place at the KFC.
'There has been a lot of "how cheap" type comments, but most people think it's genius (saving money, plus everyone loves KFC),' she says.
‘We all had grumbling tummies, 6 hours left until dinner, and KFC was our saviour!'
According to the Courier Mail, the couple later learned that the groom’s parents had also ducked in to KFC after their wedding ceremony – sounds like it runs in the family!
