Ingredients
750g bag frozen waffle cut fries
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 large onion, finely chopped
1 large carrot, peeled, finely chopped
500g beef mince
2 tablespoons tomato paste
500g jar tomato pasta sauce
1½ cups frozen peas (225g)
1 cup grated Tasty cheese

Spread fries over an oiled, large oven tray.

Cook in a very hot oven (220C), turning halfway, for 15 minutes. Remove.

Meanwhile, heat oil in a large non-stick frying pan over a medium heat. Add onion and carrot. Cook, stirring occasionally, until soft. Add beef. Cook, stirring to break up mince over a high heat, for about 5 minutes, or until changed in colour. Stir in paste.

Add pasta sauce and ½ cup water to pan. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to boil. Gently boil, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes, or until thickened. Stir in peas. Transfer to an oiled ovenproof dish (14-cup capacity).

Arrange fries, slightly overlapping, over top. Sprinkle with cheese. Return to very hot oven.

Cook for about 15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and top is golden brown. Remove. Stand for 5 minutes before serving.
