Next month, ‘Designer Handbags, Shoes, Accessories and selected Designer Fashion Brands’ can only be returned within 30 days of purchase - while all other items can only be returned within 60 days of purchase. The change to the policy applies to all items purchased on or after August 1, 2019.
The change has been met with a mixed reaction on social media. While many say it’s a fair change and it still gives people plenty of time to return an item, others aren’t as pleased.
‘I like to buy items for my kids to wear months down the track, but sometimes they don’t fit into them regardless of my best intentions,’ says one in a closed Facebook group. ‘Knowing that DJs aren’t going to accept my return anymore is upsetting, I probably won’t be able to stock up there.’
Adds another: ‘DJs were always the best for returns, all these new rules are just annoying.’
But another says the policy change is fair. ‘I think it’s a bit much expecting a store to take returns one, two, three years down the track.’
