Most IGAs will stick to their normal opening hours across the Easter long weekend break including Easter Saturday, Sunday and Monday. As for bottle shops, Vintage Cellars, Liquorland and First Choice will all be closed on Good Friday - so it’s probably best to stock up on alcohol on Thursday!
Easter Saturday
Most Woolworths, Aldi and Coles are open on Easter Saturday making it your best day over the long weekend for a big old shop. Some locations may have reduced hours - be sure to check your local store's trading hours. As for bottle shops, they will be trading as usual.
Easter Sunday
Many major supermarkets will remain open on Easter Sunday - with reduced trading hours - however some will stay closed.
Coles in the Sydney suburbs of Ashfield, Five Dock, Gladesville and Blacktown will remain closed.
Woolworths at Melbourne Central will stay closed until Tuesday, while Woolworths in Adelaide’s Stirling will be closed on Sunday.
Aldi will have selected stores offering normal hours to NSW customers, and most stores in other states will stick with their normal trading hours.
Bottle shops are legally allowed to open their doors, but check your local store for trading hours.
Easter Monday
Woolworths will have reduced trading hours in many stores while Coles won’t open until 9am. Aldi stores should be open, click here for your local store’s trading hours.
