‘Can’t believe how easy and quick the pm [pie maker] is!’
Revealing her technique, the chef wrote: ‘Used Betty Crocker’s GF vanilla cupcake mix and followed recipe. Only took 7 minutes to cook.’
She adds: ‘Pour in half way and close lid!’
Then to turn the cakes into lamingtons, Maddy says to ‘Mix cocoa powder, icing sugar, bit of melted butter and enough hot water to make it liquidy so you can dunk these in to coat. Then put them in a bowl of coconut. Trick is to use one hand for chocolate and one hand for coconut 🙂’
She says she then put the cakes in the fridge so the icing can set, before cutting and filling them with jam and cream. It’s that simple!
Maddy’s fellow pie maker fans were blown away that they had a chef in their midst.
‘Love it when a chef jumps on board,’ said one. Added another: ‘Your secret is safe with me, and the other 90,000 pie fans. Nice work. Your talents aren't wasted, just refined!’
Said one more: ‘Hey everyone likes a hack! 😂 Enjoy!’
