Watch Amanda share her week 1 journey.

Dedicated mum-of-two Amanda Woodward, 48, says her weight and health have been nothing short of a roller-coaster throughout her life. “I’ve always been a larger build and even at my ‘skinniest’ and healthiest in my 20s I was still a Size 12,” Amanda reveals.

Amanda found her baby weight hard to shift. “Over the last few years it’s become harder than ever to lose weight – I just feel so unhealthy,” she admits.

The difficulty in achieving her weight-loss and health goals has been compounded by Amanda’s ongoing battle with an inflammatory disease called sarcoidosis – causing inflammation and abnormal lumps called granulomas to form on her organs.

With fatigue and pain major symptoms, Amanda says it’s been so difficult to gain the energy and strength to lose weight and get healthy.

When learning of our New Idea 6-week Family Health Challenge, Amanda eagerly jumped on board, and also recruited her family to join her for the journey.

“My husband Craig is a keen gym goer and my kids play a lot of sport so they’re already all active, but we can all make overall healthier changes to our lifestyles,” Amanda says. Admitting self-sabotaging has been a problem in her past weight-loss quests, she notes, “I am not very good at setting and achieving my own goals and I often self-sabotage.

“I want this challenge to give me the tools to kickstart a healthier 2019 and future for me and my family!”
