‘Now when I’m cooking dinner, I have a look and see if I can add something from the basket. Then once a week we make a large frittata with all the leftovers and either eat it for dinner or portion it up as snacks.
‘Apart from the eggs, it’s a free mean each week and no more food wastage!!’
The ‘No food waste’ frittata went down a treat with the other Mums Who Budget & Save Facebook members, who were blown away by the idea.
‘Cool idea! Thanks for sharing!’ said one. Added another: ‘So simple! But such a good idea!’
Said a third: ‘Stealing this idea for the warmer months. In winter I make end of the week soup to use everything up but didn’t know what to do with them in the warmer weather.’
And while some might question the idea of storing food scraps and turning them into a meal, others disagree. Said one follower: ‘Love this!’
