Ingredients
1.2 kg floury potatoes
3 garlic cloves, crushed
3 cups milk
½ tsp freshly grated nutmeg
40 g butter
salt and pepper, to season
Method
- Preheat the oven to 200°C.
- Peel and thinly slice the floury potatoes. Layer in a large, buttered baking dish, seasoning with salt and pepper between layers. Mix the garlic with milk and grated nutmeg. Pour over potatoes, dot with butter, cover and microwave 10 minutes, then uncover and bake at 200°C until golden and tender (about 45-50 minutes). If you don’t have a microwave, bake about 11⁄4 hours.
