But lamenting that her idea clearly hadn’t worked, Bec revealed that the rubbish and money sat there for days on end - with no member of her family collecting the trash from the otherwise clean floor and collecting their cash reward.
Says Bec: ‘Clearly this game hasn’t worked here yet...maybe one day. (it was a couple of months between rounds)
‘For now, I’ll keep upping the prize money, knowing it’s coming back.’
Sharing photo proof of the rubbish - with money hidden underneath - sitting in the same spot day after day on the awesome Mums Who Clean Facebook page, Bec asked other mums for advice on how to get her husband and kids to help more around the house.
And while many of the group’s fabulous members offered advice, many were more impressed with her trap.
‘You’re a dead set genius,’ wrote one. Said another: ‘This needs to be shared with the world.’
Others were keen to come and live with Bec and tidy up for her!
‘Can I come live with you?’ wrote one. Added one more: ‘On my way over to clean your house!’
Meanwhile other followers could relate to Bec’s pain, saying the same thing would happen in their homes.
‘My kids would probably pick it up, take out the money and throw it back on the floor and run around yelling excitedly!’ said one.
