Choosing the right board
First off you want to choose the style and design of the board itself. There's plenty of options, including a wooden board, a marble one, or even a stoneware plate.
They also come in all sizes in shapes, such as the classic circle, and you can also have them standing up with handles or just a flat base.
Choosing the right colour and design for your board will add that extra value in how it looks, as having bright colours of the food against a nice dark wood will really make it stand out.
What to include
Now is the time to start mapping out what you want to have on your platter. You can go for a few different types of cheeses, and make sure to have a nice mix of flavours, colour, and even texture.
Having a nice variety will not only make it more fun to eat, but it also makes it so much more visually appealing.
Be sure to add some dips, crackers, maybe even some fruit - there's no wrong answer. You can add as many different snacks on there to give it a nice variety.
Adding it all together
When it comes to building the platter, you want to be a bit creative with the placement of everything on the board. For example, instead of just placing all your crackers in a pile, try stacking them along the board, either in a straight line or give a little curve to it.
With the cheese, the trick is cut out a piece in a triangle shape, and have the cutter placed either in it or beside it. You can also cut it in half and separate the two piece across the board, or even mix and match and have it with other flavours of the cheese.
And as a final touch, grab a handful of blueberries or grapes or anything of the sort, and sprinkle them on top of all the other snacks to add some colour.
