After months of speculation, KFC has finally confirmed that Krushers will no longer be part of the menu.
The crushed ice milkshakes came in a variety of flavours - including Mocha, Golden Gaytime, Kookies ‘n’ Kream and Chocolate Cornetto - and were a firm favourite with fans.
There had been speculation brewing for months with various franchises no longer selling the popular menu item, with many frustrated customers taking to social media and forums to voice their disapproval.
‘I was at the Port Adelaide KFC and they told me they don’t do Krushers anymore. KFC is Apprently getting rid of it. Anyone know if this accurate?’ wrote one user.
Added another: ‘Arghh why are they getting rid of them?!? They were literally my favourite drink ever. Does anyone know how to make one at home?’
Fans were so disappointed that they even started two online petitions to bring back the Krushers to all stores.
‘Bring back the Krushers a KFC’ and ‘Bring back KFC Krushers’ were both in full swing, as part of the fan push to stop any potential ban of the drink.
But it appears their efforts were for nothing, with KFC making last night’s announcement. While they haven’t given a formal reason for dropping the milkshake option from their menu, one Reddit user gave some insight.
'Have a friend who is a manager at a KFC,’ the user wrote. ‘He was cheering they chose to discontinue, apparently they're a PITA [pain in the a**].’
