If you were shocked by the announcement earlier this week that Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux are calling time on their two and a half year marriage, then prepare to have your mind blown by this new information…
According to a bizarre theory sweeping the internet, the Hollywood couple were never actually married in the first place.
TMZ is reporting that no official records exist for the union in LA county, even dating back to 2010 when the pair first started dating.
This is despite Jen and Justin holding a ceremony at their Bel Air mansion in 2015.
While TMZ acknowledges that the couple could have obtained a marriage license in any of the 57 other counties in California, or applied for a confidential marriage license, however the publications sources say there has long been talk that the couple may never have been legally married.
“We also checked with numerous divorce lawyers, and no one, as far as we can see, has been contacted by either Jen or Justin,” the source continued.
“It’s certainly possible they’re legally married, but based on what we found, it’s possible they’re not.”
In a further twist, Jen and Justin’s official statement doesn’t mention the word divorce – which suggests the ceremony could’ve been a superficial one.
