Police have been called after a violent brawl broke out at a busy Big W store.
Shocked shoppers looked on as two women allegedly lashed out at security staff after one of the women were accused one of using a pram to steal items from the store.
The incident - which occurred at the Big W store in Gungahlin, ACT - was filmed by a stunned onlooker, as the women allegedly grew aggressive with staff.
'I watched one of the women punch a staff member in the head when she tried to intervene,' a witness named Rachel told the Daily Mail.
Footage of the drama shows a woman pushing a pram with a blanket draped over the top. Believing the woman is trying to conceal stolen items in the pram, security staff can be seen forming a line at the exit of the store in an attempt to stop her leaving.
But when she tried to manoeuvre the pram around her, a staff member removed the blanket to reportedly expose the stolen goods.
The witness told the Daily Mail that the woman hurled abuse at the Big W staff as they tried to block her from leaving the store.
'They were obviously getting defensive and one of the women yelled, "Get your hands off my f***ing pram,"’ Rachel told Daily Mail.
It’s then that a second woman can reportedly be seen jumping to the woman's aid as staff apparently engage in a ferocious tug-of-war with the pram.
At that point, the woman with the pram can reportedly be seen finally letting go of the stroller - appearing to turn on another staff member. She then allegedly grabbing the employee by her hair before appearing to violently throw her to the ground.
With their attempt to leave the store with the pram apparently thwarted, the woman can be seen pushing the empty prawn away from the store.
Big W confirmed to Daily Mail that an incident happened at its store on Thursday.
'Police were called and we’re currently assisting them with their investigation,' a spokesperson said.
