Things can get pretty tedious in the I’m A Celebrity.. Get Me Out Of Here! jungle with campmates often resorting to the old fashioned art of storytelling to pass the time.
And in the latest episode of the Network Ten favourite, former entertainment reporter Richard Reid spilled some insider gossip from his seven-year stint on the Today show.
Speaking to fellow contestant Angie Kent, he recalled walking in on then-Today host Karl Stefanovic getting ready for filming.
“I go into the hair room, and this guy looks up and he’s kinda like balding – it was Karl Stefanovic without his spray-on hair!” Reid remembered.
Surprised by the revelation, Kent said: “He has spray-on hair?!”
The TV star didn’t stop there, revealing the anchor “went away and got hair plugs” during a six-week holiday.
“He still used the spray until it filled in,” he added.
Kent noted Karl would be “so cross if he knew that was being spread around”.
Reid’s admission is not the first time the authenticity of the Logie-winning presenter’s hair has been called into question.
In 2017, a report from the Sydney Morning Herald claimed Stefanovic had taken the plunge and gone for plugs in a bid to preserve his youthful appearance on-screen.
The long-time host was dramatically axed from the Channel 9 staple late last year, around the time he married new love Jasmine Yarbrough in an “extravagant” Mexican ceremony.
