Kate Middleton is set to break tradition by opening presents with her family on Christmas Eve instead of Christmas Day.
Royal historian and founder of Royal Musings, Marlene Koenig told HELLO! that the Duchess would normally open presents with the Middletons on Christmas Day, but now opens them with her children the night before Christmas as a royal family tradition.
“The British royals still follow the German tradition of opening presents on Christmas Eve. The members of the family who are present at Sandringham exchange gifts, usually not expensive. The gifts are put out on a trestle table after tea time.”
Marlene also revealed that the children will likely also open presents on Christmas morning at Anmer Hall.
