Duchess Kate Looks Flawless In $4,000 Royal Blue Gown

The Duchess of Cambridge is bang on trend

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, wore a brand-new evening dress complete with shoulder cutouts while hosting SportsAid’s 40th-anniversary dinner at Kensington Palace in London on Thursday.

The stunning $4,000 full-length gown was designed by Roland Mouret, who is also responsible for other knockout numbers the Duchess has worn in the past.

Before sitting down to enjoy the delicious meal, the mother-of-two delivered a short speech in which she expressed her love for sport.

‘Some of you may know that I love sport,’ Kate said in her remarks. ‘I love cheering on teams and athletes that I am passionate about. I love the physical challenge sport presents and the mental strength it gives us all. And I love the way it so often brings people together to work as part of a team.’

The charity provides financial support and recognition to young British athletes during the early stages of their careers, and the British royal has been a patron of it since 2013.

Kate is no doubt gearing up for a busy weekend, as the Queen’s official 90th birthday celebrations begin tomorrow with a Service of Thanksgiving at St. Paul’s Cathedral – which coincidentally also marks Prince Philip’s 95th birthday.
