When we think romance, things like red roses, champagne, candlelit dinners and chocolates spring to mind.

But not to the folk at KFC.

KFC release a bearskin rug - with the Colonel Sanders’ head on it - in time for Valentine’s Day

The fast food chain have released a special KFC bearskin rug - complete with the Colonel Sanders’ head - attached to it in time for Valentine’s Day, and are giving it away to three lucky people.

Says Andrea Zahumensky, KFC’s chief marketing officer in the US: “I’m no dating expert, but the only thing I can think of that’s more romantic than eating fried chicken on Valentine’s Day, is eating fried chicken on a faux-bearskin rug created in the likeness of the greatest chicken salesman of all time — Colonel Sanders.’

To be in the running to win one of the KFC rugs, you need to head to Reddit and submit your ‘unique and wacky’ entry. There are three ways to enter the contest:

Photoshop battle: Photo shop an image of the Colonel Sanders rug into a bizarre/funny/romantic masterpiece
Drawing duel: Submit an original piece of art showing your idea of the perfect romantic evening, inspired by the Colonel Sanders faux bearskin rug

Storytelling challenge: KFC starts the story, and you complete the narrative to turn it into a romantic Mills & Boon style masterpiece.

The three winners will receive the rug, as well as two fried-chicken pyjama onesies and a gift card for KFC for two for a year.
