Available for just $1.50 each, we’ve already seen the ice cube trays used as trolley snack holders and makeshift bento box dividers. But this latest baking hack is taking things to a whole new level!
Posting on the kmart home decor & hacks australia Facebook page, Jo writes: ‘Today I bought some ice-cube trays and baked up a batch of banana bites, using 6 ripe bananas. Yum.’
Adding that she placed the ice cube holders on a metal tray and cooked them in a 160c oven, Jo says they worked just like regular silicone cookware.
It wasn’t long before the group’s members were hooked on Jo’s ingenious hack.
‘Brilliant! Great idea, I didn’t think they could be used in the oven,’ said one. Added another:’ Oh how awesome!! I use these all the for ice i would have thought they would of melted in the oven so never tried it. I cant wait to make brownies in these now!! And perfect squares for their bento lunch boxes :)’
Said a third: ‘This is a game changer! Genius!’
We totally agree!
