Who doesn’t love a good fruit mince pie at Christmas?
Well a clever home cook over at the awesome Kmart Pie Maker Recipes, Tips and Ideas Australia Facebook group has come up with an ingenious super simple recipe using her trusty $29 Kmart appliance, and we couldn’t love it more!
Yep, using frozen shortcrust pastry and supermarket-bought fruit mince mix, savvy Kmart Pie Maker mum Karyn whipped them up - and we are blown away at how good they look!
‘Ok so I gave making fruit mince pies a go today, just using a pre made mince mix because they are for tomorrow and I didn’t have time to macerate the fruit before then,’ she told her fellow followers on the Facebook group.
‘I used shortcrust pastry for too and bottom, and they seem to have worked well. One jar made 8 pies, bearing in mind that they are much bigger than regular fruit mince pies.’
She followed it up by saying: ‘It was so simple - literally two ingredients.’
We couldn’t love this more!
The recipe got the tick of approval from the other home cooks on the Facebook page, who loved how super simple it is.
‘This is great idea!’ wrote one, while another said: ‘My son has become fruit mince pie obsessed and he was complaining they aren’t big enough! I’ll have to give this a go.’
