1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 tsp crushed garlic
2 tsp grated fresh ginger
500 g lean beef mince
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ cup gluten-free tamari sauce
2 spring onions, finely sliced
1 small carrot, coarsely grated
2 cups cooked medium-grain rice
- Heat 2 teaspoons of the sesame oil in a non-stick frying pan over high heat. Add the garlic and ginger and stir-fry for 30 sec. Add mince and cook for 5-6 min or until browned, breaking up any lumps with a spoon.
- Add brown sugar, tamari, spring/green onions and carrot and cook, stirring, for a further 2-3 min or until vegetables soften and the sauce thickens.
- Stir in remaining sesame oil and serve the mince over cooked medium-grain rice. Garnish with sliced spring/green onions, coriander sprigs, shredded carrot and sliced red capsicum.
