If you’ve come across a miniature collectable resembling a Coles gift card, it could be much more valuable than you think.
Unlike other miniatures distributed with the supermarket’s Little Shop 2 promotion, these toys could actually be worth up to one million Flybuys points.
The trick is to flip the card over and scan the QR code on its underside, putting you in the draw for free points.
The first prize is one million points - enough to buy four 49-inch Sony TVs, six DeLonghi espresso machines or 12 Le Creuset 28cm casseroles.
That's also enough for more than 300 movie tickets or 14 Samsung Galaxy tablets.
This less-publicised feature of the cards is being shared by bargain hunters on social media, sending shoppers rushing to their kids' collections to flip the gift cards.
Other than the million-point first prize, valued about $5000, there are 99 other prizes on offer ranging from 500,000 points to 5,000 points.
The total prize pool is five million points, valued about $25,000.
