Channel Nine’s Married At First Sight has seen the social experiment go through 35 couples over five seasons.
Season 2’s Erin Bateman and Bryce Mohr are the only original couple still together, and on Monday Erin revealed how the couple have kept their romance intact.
Speaking to fellow MAFS star Bella Frizza on podcast The D&M, Erin said: ‘We are together but we keep it on the ‘DL’.
She added, ‘I’m sure it infuriates a lot of people that they’re not kept in the loop because the nature of reality TV is you then go on to flaunt your whole life on social media.’
‘I don’t think it’s normal. I know personally people who portray their relationship on social media as this fairytale, who are some of the most miserable people I’ve ever met, in terms of relationships.’
Bryce and Erin have been dating for two years since meeting on the reality show in 2016.
The Melbourne local also opened up about the ‘on-off’ nature of their relationship.
We are very much together,’ she said, ‘But that doesn’t mean it hasn’t been without its ups and downs and everything else that goes with a normal relationship.’
Erin quickly added, however, that she and Bryce had not changed who they were since their reality TV appearance.
‘The Bryce I got the day that I met him is the Bryce I have today,’ she said. ‘He hasn’t changed at all. He is exactly who he is, and I’d like to think he feels the same about me.’
