Trent Vu was the first contestant to be eliminated after his chicken dish failed to impress the judges.
"I’m sorry, Trent. Unfortunately, your chicken, it was completely overpowered by the lemon myrtle in the dish," said judge Melissa.
Despite leaving the show early on, Trent isn’t giving up on his food dreams and hopes to continue to break into food media.
19-year-old YoYo was the youngest competitor of the season, but things began to slip away from her when her meringue didn’t hold its shape and her rhubarb was undercooked.
"I'm so sorry, but you are leaving us today. It's such a shame, but the food world is at your doorstep," judge Melissa said.
After an intense bread-focused challenge, Katrina's bread and butter pudding with an orange twist had the judges questioning if her dessert was "bread forward" enough.
With three strong dishes to compete against, Katrina’s inability to bring out enough bread flavour saw her announced as the third contestant eliminated from the MasterChef kitchen.

But, Minoli secured her way back into the competition after Second Chance Week in the MasterChef kitchen, which saw two spots open up for all the contestants who had been eliminated.
Although, Minoli was eliminated for a second time, after plating up green mango noodles in her south east Asian broth.
In a challenge that offered a choice between a sweet or savoury dish to cook, the contestants were thrown off after they had made their decisions, when judge Jock switched them out.
And unfortunately for Maja, it was her failed attempt at the sweet tart that meant the end to her time in the MasterChef kitchen.
However, Maja earned back her apron and her spot in the MasterChef competition, after she was successful in the "returning eliminated contestants" stage, but her return in the kitchen was short-lived after she was eliminated for a second time.
In a challenge where the contestants had to create a dish inspired by a classic food saying, Wynona chose “Cool As A Cucumber” and decided to make a Confit Salmon with Ginger Broth, Noodles and Pickled Cucumbers.
The judges felt that she didn't quite meet the brief for the challenge with her dish, and she was ultimately sent home.
In what is undoubtedly one of the most shocking eliminations from the MasterChef kitchen so far, is that of 'Dessert Queen' Therese, who wowed the judges from the very beginning.
So much so, that she scored herself an Immunity Pin, which is the biggest advantage in the competition. But it was her refusal to the play the pin that saw the fan favourite leave the competition.
It was the final day of Masters Week and the contestants needed to impress in a two-round elimination challenge.
But the judges found Conor’s green olive ice cream to be "grainy" and "lumpy", and it sent him home from the MasterChef kitchen.

In a challenge where the cooks had to create a three-course menu for the judges and 20 guests, Elise just missed out on making it to MasterChef Australia’s Grand Finale after she was eliminated from the competition.
