Sweet dreams are made of cheese – and it would appear all cheese dreams have come true with the announcement that McDonald’s has started selling ‘Camembert Donuts’. But before you jump in your car and hightail it to your nearest Macca’s drive-through, there is, sadly, a catch.
These crumbed and deep-fried rings of cheesy deliciousness are currently only available in Germany.
With trusty old Google Translate, we’ve deciphered the McDonald’s Germany website, which describes the doughnuts thusly:
“What should not be missing in a perfect BBQ? Exactly, a hearty side dish like our tender-melting Camembert donuts with fruity cranberry dip! Crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside - simply delicious! The box of 7 is perfect for sharing!”
Be still our tender-melting hearts. So that’s what’s been missing from our barbecues all these years!
These crunchy-creamy treats come it at around $6.50 for the box of seven with two packets of cranberry dip. The lucky buggers also appear to have curly fries with sour cream and chive dip on the German menu.
We’ll just go and eat our feelings by scoffing this whole wheel of baked camembert.
