Meghan’s nail polish broke Queen’s cardinal rule

When you're 15,000kms away, the rules don't count.

Meghan Markle has come somewhat known as a “royal rule breaker”, from her signature messy bun to her continuous fashion choices that are changing the moulds of how royal women dress. Now, the Duchess of Sussex has seemingly dared to break yet another of Her Majesty’s cardinal style rules.

Stepping out at Kingfisher Bay jetty, Fraser Island, to meet members of the public, Meghan decided to wear a linen Reformation dress and lace-up sandals.

The dress in itself was daring enough, with many noting the laid-back look and it’s show stopping thigh split were very out-there for a royal.

But, it was actually Meghan’s choice of nail polish that caught the eye of royal fans.

The duchess chose a bold red across her toenails – which were on full display through her brown laced sandals.

One of Queen Elizabeth’s pet peeves is brightly coloured nail polish.

Royal women must abide by this rule, with only fresh and natural looking manicures being accepted by Her Majesty.

Although Meghan has been mostly accepting of this rule, keeping her fingernails to blush pinks and neutrals, she has seemingly decided to go a bit more daring with her toes.

Earlier this week, Meghan broke yet another of the Queen’s cardinal rules.

Stepping out in Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach in a stunning Martin Grant maxi dress, but the duchess choice of heel caused a stir.

The Duchess of Sussex opted for a pair of black espadrille wedges, and it’s a known fact Her Majesty detests the style of heel.

“The Queen isn’t a fan of wedged shoes,” a source once told Vanity Fair.

“She really doesn’t like them and it’s well known among the women in the family.”
